On Sunday the sixteenth, we celebrated Beanie's first birthday, because Monday, her actual birthday, we had to drive home from our beach vacation. The day started with breakfast and a nice long walk. Then Alex took her nap. After she woke up, we got her dressed in her birthday outfit (complete with hat), and let her play with the wooden cake puzzle Mama has had since she was a small girl!
After those pictures, we walked to the pavillion on the beach to meet Nana for lunch! We climbed up in the gigantic white adirondack chair with Bean. I remember saying to Nana the last time I was at the beach before Alex was born, when our little baby is one, we'll be able to take a picture of him or her in that chair for the first time! It was fun to actually see that happen!
We sat in loungechairs by the pool at the pavillion for a while, chatting and watching Alex play, and then we went home to have a little party! First we opened presents...
And then we had cake!
See candle...
Get candle...
Eat candle...
Pat cake!
Eat cake!
Share cake with Daddy...
And then we played with toys, had dinner, and went off to bed. It was a great, great birthday!
